The questions we are asked before publishing: how we select, who pays for what, which rights the author keeps and where our books can be found. If yours is missing, write to us.
Before you send anything
Séptimo Cielo Editorial is a publishing imprint with prior selection. Every manuscript goes before the Editorial Committee, which decides whether the work fits our mission, our editorial line and our real publishing capacity. We do not publish everything we receive.
Nor are we a self-publishing platform or a printer. We do not simply typeset and print a file: we accompany the work from the initial assessment through to the launch and the book's life afterwards.
We are an imprint specialising in works on personal growth, wellbeing, awareness, spirituality, culture and human development. We look for works that offer knowledge, experiences or perspectives capable of accompanying processes of growth and transformation.
In particular: personal development and growth; emotional and holistic wellbeing; spirituality and the expansion of consciousness; neuroscience and mental reprogramming; conscious leadership and purpose; philosophy, ancestral wisdom and symbolic knowledge; art, poetry and transformative creativity; education and culture; biographies and stories of overcoming adversity; social innovation and community action; children's or young adult literature with values; and practical works focused on self-knowledge. It is set out in full in our editorial line.
No. Thematic affinity does not automatically guarantee publication: each proposal is considered on the basis of its quality, coherence, authenticity, viability and contribution to the reader.
The Editorial Committee looks at the purpose and contribution of the work, the quality and clarity of the content, the coherence of the structure, the authenticity of the author's voice, the affinity with our editorial line, the readership it addresses, technical, financial and commercial viability, the potential for impact, the author's commitment, and respect for rights, dignity and diversity.
The final decision always rests with people: no artificial intelligence tool replaces the professional judgement of the Editorial Committee.
Through the contact form, telling us about the project, or via WhatsApp. Do not attach the manuscript yet: we will tell you how to send it to us securely.
We answer all enquiries within a maximum of 48 working hours.
The manuscripts, ideas, documents and materials we receive are treated confidentially. Only those who need to be involved in the assessment or development of the project have access to them.
Submitting a manuscript for assessment does not involve any assignment of exploitation, reproduction, transformation or publication rights, and receipt of a work does not imply its acceptance, nor does it automatically create a contractual relationship.
No small print
We do not publish a fixed price list because there is no such thing: a forty-page poetry collection and a three-hundred-page essay neither cost the same nor need the same things. What you can expect is that everything will be in writing before you start paying for anything.
After the assessment, if the work is a good fit, you receive a written publishing proposal setting out the applicable model, the investment, the services included, rights, royalties, production, distribution and duration. You read it at your own pace, ask whatever you need to and decide.
It depends on the model that applies to the work. We work with three possible frameworks, and the proposal always states explicitly which one applies:
The publishing proposal details, item by item, who covers proofreading, typesetting, cover design, printing, distribution and launch. There are no hidden costs and no services that appear after signing.
The author is and remains the copyright holder of their work. Any assignment or authorisation is formalised through a written contract, clear and accepted by both parties, which sets out which rights are assigned, for which formats, in which territories and for how long.
The moral rights to the work cannot be waived and always remain with the author.
The contract states its start date, its duration and the conditions for renewal and termination, as well as what happens to copies and production files when the agreement ends.
The specific length is set out in the personalised proposal for each work and is stated in writing in the contract before signing.
Where the agreement includes royalties, the contract sets out the percentage, the basis on which it is calculated (recommended retail price or net price received by the publisher), how often royalties are paid and what information the author receives with each statement.
The percentage and payment frequency are set out in the personalised proposal for each work and are stated in writing in the contract before signing.
Inside the book
Core production is what every book needs: editorial reading and assessment, copy-editing and proofreading, editing and organisation of content, interior typesetting, cover design, ISBN and legal deposit, and printing and physical production.
These are contracted separately, and only if the author wants them: in-depth copy-editing, writing support and editorial mentoring, illustration and photography, ebook conversion, audiobook production, communication, press and book marketing, author website and launch materials, and translation and editions in other languages.
The specific scope of each item is detailed in the proposal. They are grouped by the stage of the journey where they are needed in our four solutions.
Each proposal states whether the work is produced in a fixed print run, by print-on-demand or a combination of both, and how many author copies are included.
The print run and the number of author copies are set out in the personalised proposal for each work and are stated in writing in the contract before signing.
We work with physical and digital distribution channels — bookshops and online platforms — selected according to the characteristics of each work.
The publishing proposal states how far the planned distribution reaches for each book: which channels are activated, in which territories and in which formats. Presence in a channel does not in itself guarantee a volume of sales.
Yes. A book can be published in print, as an ebook and as an audiobook, and ebook conversion and audiobook production are among the optional services.
We also convert already published works into audiobooks or ebooks.
No. We do not guarantee commercial results, positions in bestseller lists or circulation figures that do not depend exclusively on the publisher. Each project is assessed realistically and decisions are communicated clearly.
No. Technology is a support tool: the work, the judgement and the final decision always belong to the author and the professional team. No tool writes the work in place of the person who signs it, and no generated content is published without review by a professional: the final proofread is signed off by a proofreader.
We do not enter complete manuscripts into public tools without the author's express permission, and authors' texts are not used to train our own systems or those of third parties. It is explained in Editorial AI.
If you are a reader
Every work in the catalogue states its actual channels in the "Where to get it" block on its page. Books in circulation can be ordered from any bookshop by quoting the ISBN, and also on Amazon.es.
The rest are available directly from the publisher: via WhatsApp or through the contact form, stating the title. We will tell you how to get it, signed by the author where the book allows.
Yes. The catalogue includes a work published in Catalan: Moixaines, by Robert Orús Salvador. Translation and editions in other languages are among the optional services and are contracted if the work calls for it.
