2. What data we process and where it comes from
We process the data that individuals provide to us through the contact form —name, email address, telephone number if given, subject and the content of the message— and any data arising from the subsequent relationship if the project goes ahead. We do not obtain data from external sources or buy contact databases.
We also record the date of submission and the IP address from which it is sent, for security purposes and to prevent misuse of the form.
When you browse the website, your IP address, the page visited, the date and basic technical data about your browser are also processed, for the sole purpose of counting visits. This count is carried out by Metricool, which does not install cookies or store information on your device. You can object to this measurement by writing to info@septimocieloeditorial.com.
3. What we use it for and on what legal basis
- Responding to enquiries and assessing the publishing project. Basis: the individual's consent and the taking of pre-contractual steps at their request.
- Managing the publishing relationship if the project goes ahead. Basis: performance of the contract.
- Complying with legal obligations —accounting, tax and intellectual property obligations, including legal deposit and ISBN management. Basis: legal obligation.
- Site security and prevention of misuse. Basis: legitimate interest.
- Website audience measurement. Knowing how many visits we receive and which pages are viewed, through the Metricool service, which does not install cookies or identifiers on your device. Basis: legitimate interest.
No automated decisions with legal effects are made. Any assessment of a manuscript is decided by the Editorial Committee: no tool replaces that judgement.
4. Mandatory data and accuracy
Fields marked as mandatory are required for us to be able to reply. Individuals guarantee that their data is accurate and undertake to notify us of any relevant changes.
5. Confidentiality of manuscripts
Manuscripts and materials sent to us are treated as confidential information. Only those involved in their assessment or editing have access to them; they are not shared with third parties outside the process and are not used as examples, samples or training material outside our work with that author.
Submitting a manuscript does not assign rights of any kind. If the project does not go ahead, the material is deleted or returned at the author's request.
6. Recipients and processors
Data may be processed by the providers needed to deliver the service —web hosting, email and audience measurement—, including Hostinger as hosting provider and Metricool Software, S.L. for website visit statistics. The forms on this site are processed entirely on our own hosting, without external intermediaries. These providers act as data processors or as independent controllers depending on their role.
Data may also be disclosed to public authorities, courts, financial institutions or other recipients where there is a legal obligation, where it is necessary to perform the relationship, or to defend rights.
We do not transfer data for commercial purposes or share it with other entities in the Uniting Souls ecosystem unless the individual expressly requests it.
7. International transfers
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area or allows access from third countries, the safeguards provided for in the GDPR (RGPD) —an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses— will be applied, and you will be informed accordingly.
8. Retention periods
Enquiries that do not lead to a relationship are kept for as long as necessary to respond to them and, thereafter, for the limitation period for any possible claims. Data relating to a publishing relationship is kept for as long as the relationship lasts and, once it ends, for the periods required by accounting, tax and intellectual property legislation.
9. Rights
Anyone may request access to their data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of or objection to processing, and portability, as well as withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. Simply write to info@septimocieloeditorial.com stating your request.
If you consider that your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (Spanish Data Protection Agency, www.aepd.es).
10. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data. The enquiry log is stored outside the website's public directory and is not accessible from the internet.
11. Changes to this policy
